Denver Nuggets star Nikola Jokić has added another significant honor to his already impressive resume.

The 29-year-old Serbian has secured the 2023-24 NBA Most Valuable Player award, his third win of the prestigious honor in the last four seasons following consecutive MVPs in 2020-21 and 2021-22.

Jokić joins an elite group of NBA history-makers as the ninth player to claim three or more MVP awards.

With this achievement, he stands shoulder to shoulder with legends Magic Johnson, Larry Bird, and Moses Malone, all of whom boast three MVP titles.

Only LeBron James and Wilt Chamberlain, with four MVPs each, Michael Jordan and Bill Russell, who each earned the honor five times, and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, with an unparalleled six MVPs, have amassed more of the league's top individual honors in their illustrious careers.

Jokić and James stand as the only active NBA players with three or more MVP awards, and the center has surpassed contemporaries Giannis Antetokounmpo and Stephen Curry, who have two MVPs.

Shai Gilgeous Alexander and Luka Doncic finish below Jokic

Jokić, who accumulated 926 total points, emerged victorious over fellow finalists Oklahoma City Thunder star Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Dallas Mavericks star Luka Dončić.

Gilgeous-Alexander finished with 640 points, while Dončić earned 566 points.

Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo, who finished fourth, received a single first-place vote from one voter for 192 points.
