The Indiana Fever has officially selected Iowa Hawkeyes star Caitlin Clark as the first overall pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft, held on Monday, April 15, at the Brooklyn Academy of Music in Brooklyn, New York.
While Clark is already a well-known household name in basketball, her rookie contract may appear modest compared to contracts in other sports.
Clark is set to sign a four-year rookie contract with the Fever with a projected value of $338,056, and the final year being a player option, according to Spotrac.
In her rookie season, the 22-year-old is slated to earn $76,535, with gradual increases in subsequent years to $78,066 in 2025 and $85,873 in 2026.
The contract culminates with a player option worth $97,582 in 2027.

The first four picks of the 2024 WNBA Draft are expected to receive identical contracts. Cameron Brink, Kamilla Cardoso, and Rickea Jackson are all slated to sign the same contract terms with the Los Angeles Sparks, Chicago Sky, and once again with the Los Angeles Sparks, respectively.
Caitlin Clark's NIL value is way more than WNBA contract
Clark concluded her college tenure at Iowa ranked second in Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) value among all female college athletes nationwide.
Her valuation was $3.2 million, trailing only LSU Tigers gymnast Livvy Dunne, who had a valuation of $3.7 million.
Although her initial WNBA contract may seem modest compared to her NIL valuation, Clark is anticipated to offset this through various endorsement deals as she begins her professional career.
