Iowa Hawkeyes star Caitlin Clark, the NCAA's all-time leading scorer, is set to transition to the professional ranks.

However, a WNBA veteran cautioned that not everyone may be pleased with the attention Clark is receiving.

Seattle Storm power forward Nneka Ogwumike, a former first-overall pick herself in 2012, warned that the Iowa sensation might trigger jealousy among other players.

"In this league, when you get new talents, it's just like any other team. There's people who are trying to make sure that [they] make the team. That they're still valuable and their spot is still there. So with that may come a bit of jealousy, a little bit of envy, but the reality is her impact is apparent."

Despite this, the 2016 WNBA Most Valuable Player admitted she looks forward to facing off against Clark shortly. The 2024 WNBA season will begin on May 14.

Indiana Fever ticket sales create massive buzz ahead of draft

Clark is anticipated to be selected by the Indiana Fever as the first overall pick in the upcoming 2024 WNBA Draft, which is scheduled for Monday, April 15.

The team now offers pre-sale single-game tickets for two games per day over 15 days leading up to the draft, a strategy they have never implemented.

On the pre-selling website, the Fever also emphasized that they are launching the most anticipated season in franchise history.
