The Detroit Pistons' season of turmoil in 2023-24 has hit rock bottom, achieving an unfortunate milestone in the team's history.
With their 67th season loss, they are set to finish with their worst record in franchise history.
In their final home game of the season at Little Caesars Arena on Thursday, April 11, the Pistons lost to the Chicago Bulls by 127-105.
The Pistons currently have the worst record in the league, at 13-67, with only two games left in the regular season.
The previous franchise record for the worst season was held by the 1979-80 Pistons team, which finished with a record of 16-66. The current team cannot surpass this record and can win at most 15 games.
The Pistons are scheduled to face the Dallas Mavericks and San Antonio Spurs on April 12 and 14, respectively, both on the road, to finish off their forgettable campaign.
Pistons set several embarrassing milestones in 2023-24
Despite having a roster filled with young talents and lottery picks like Cade Cunningham, Ausar Thompson, and Jaden Ivey, the team set several embarrassing records in 2023-24.
They set the NBA record for the longest single-season losing streak and tied for the longest losing streak in NBA history by dropping 28 consecutive games from October 30 to December 30.
Additionally, they became the 13th team in NBA history to have a winless month, going 0-15 in November 2023.
