The Milwaukee Bucks-Boston Celtics game was supposed to be a blockbuster showdown between two of the most explosive teams in the league.
The two Eastern Conference giants clashed at Fiserv Forum, with the Bucks winning 104-90.
Both had their main weapons coming into the game, except for Kristaps Porzingis, who was not on the Cs bench due to a hamstring injury.
Everybody was expecting a heated clash. Instead, the Milwaukee Bucks cruised to a lopsided victory.
Not only that, the intensity was not felt much, especially on the part of the visiting Celtics.
This is visible on the stat sheet, as the two teams combined for just two free throws, the lowest total in the league's history.
The FT attempts came from Giannis Antetokounmpo, who went one out of two.
There could have been more if only Giannis had not left the game in the third quarter due to a left calf strain.
Another strange record set in the Bucks-Celtics game was the lowest number of fouls, a testament to how listless the game was.
The Bucks committed just four fouls, the lowest number in the NBA's history. Boston Celtics also tied the second-lowest number of fouls given (previously the record) at eight.
Lowest free throw attempts by a team
The Celtics now hold the record for having the fewest free throws in a game by a team at zero.
The Atlanta Hawks and the Memphis Grizzlies previously held that record with one.
The previous record for the least number of fouls in a game by a team was eight, held by the Denver Nuggets and the Los Angeles Lakers.
The second lowest number of fouls committed is nine, which happened 14 times.
Interestingly, all of these happened in 2024.
