It took them a long while to announce a UFC 300 Main Event, but it is here now, and fans thought the billing is enough to make the organization's milestone event interesting.

It will be Alex Pereira vs Jamahal Hill in the UFC 300 main event, which will take place on April 13 at the T-Mobile Arena where the competition started.

The Pereira vs. Hill fight was previously greenlit for UFC 301, but Dana White changed his mind as they were still searching for their main event for the 300.

The two will slug it out in the light heavyweight class.

Other main cards are Zhang Weili vs. Yan Xiaonan in the women's Strawweight division and Justin Gaethje vs. Max Holloway in the lightweight class.

The latter will also battle it out for the symbolic Baddest MotherF***** title.

Alex Pereira vs Jamahal Hill storylines and predictions

Pereira became a two-weight world champion in just seven fights and is looking to add to his legacy via the UFC 300.

He won the UFC Middleweight Championship belt against Israel Adesanya in 2022 and the UFC Light Heavyweight title against Jiří Procházka in November last year.

"My legacy is being built. I'm still fighting, and everyone knows how hard it is to get two belts. A lot of people have tried to achieve this, and many didn't make it. Only a handful [accomplished it]. I'm a guy who has them, so I think it's very important," he said.

Against Hill, the Brazilian fighter hopes to regain the 205 pounds title he vacated because of an Achilles injury.

The title interestingly went to Jamahal Hill, who beat Poatan's friend and coach, Glover Teixeira.

Pereira and Hill had a back-and-forth long before the UFC 300 main event was announced.

The latter vowed in November last year that he would put Pereira to sleep once they meet in the octagon.

He made the statement after hearing about comments that Poatan's kickboxing can defeat him.

"Mark my words when I say this: I do not plan on taking him down, I do not plan on wrestling him," Hill said on his YouTube channel. "I plan on going in there and where y'all think, he's just this otherworldy guy because he did kickboxing and I didn't do kickboxing? This is a completely different sport. Kickboxing is kickboxing, MMA is MMA. I been doing MMA for years. I been bred in MMA, and whenever I do fight him, standing, I will knock him out."

Hill promised that he would do no grappling in the match. That might play against him.

The two fighters are fired up already for their bout, but which one will win, according to experts and betting odds?

Prochazka is unsure who will win. He thinks Hill can end the fight abruptly, but if it goes to full rounds, Pereira will emerge triumphant.

Betting odds are slightly favoring Pereira.

DraftKings has him as -162 favorite while Hill is +136 underdog.

Odds Shark also put Poatan's odds at -150, while Hill's chances of winning are at +125.
