Interim WBC super middleweight titleholder David Benavidez responded sharply to the substantial demands made by Canelo Alvarez for a megafight to happen between them.

Alvarez previously claimed during a press conference for his upcoming fight against Jaime Munguia that it would take a lot of money for him to face Benavidez.

"[Benavidez] brings nothing to the table for me. He brings just 25 pounds more on that night. That's it... But if one promoter who I work with comes and offers me $150 million to $200 million, I'll fight tomorrow," the Mexican fighter said.

Benavidez didn't take this jab lightly, questioning Alvarez's demand for nine figures to fight someone who supposedly "brings nothing to the table."

"Hopefully, after you make that 150 million, you have enough left over to buy a pair of nuts," the 27-year-old added on Instagram.

Benavidez was willing to take peanuts to fight Alvarez

Alvarez reportedly declined a previous offer of $60 million plus a share of the pay-per-view (PPV) sales for a potential fight against Benavidez.

Meanwhile, Benavidez was willing to receive a measly $5 million purse as compensation, resulting in a 92-8 split in Canelo's favor.

"I was completely fine with that. This guy was taking everything, and I'm not saying he shouldn't. I don't give a f**k; I wanted the opportunity," Benavidez expressed.
