Tonight the last WWE pay-per-view of the year emanates from the Toyota Center in Houston, TX as the WWE presents its TLC: Tables, Ladders and Chairs event which is headlined by World Heavyweight Champion John Cena and WWE Champion Randy Orton going one-on-one in a title unification tables, ladders and chairs match, which is expected to have a "screwy ending."
According to Wrestlingheadlines.com, it is expected that the WWE may pull a swerve on the audience tonight and that the night won't end with just one champion as it has been hyped up to. The report indicates that with Triple H and The Authority "guaranteeing" that the night will end with only one champion in the WWE, it's likely that the ending of the match will keep two separate champions in the WWE.
One possible scenario that was speculated backstage is that Cena will come in the World Heavyweight Champion but escape with Orton's WWE Championship while Orton will grab Cena's World Heavyweight Championship and leave the show holding that title, leading to another unification match taking place down the line.
Cena appeared on the WWE's Tribute to the Troops event set to air 13 nights after TLC without his championship, leading to speculation that he may lose, though it was a quick run-in that led to a six-man tag match so it may have just been that Cena "rushed" out without his belt.
It remains to be seen what will happen, but another possible spoiler involves the WWE Divas Championship match between A.J. Lee and Natalya as a backstage incident involving Lee at the WWE's Tribute to the Troops taping on Wednesday has led to speculation that the WWE may punish her by having her lose the belt to Natalya at TLC.
According to Wrestlingheadlines.com, Lee had a dustup with NBC personality Michelle Beadle backstage at the Tribute to the Troops taping Wednesday from Joint Base Lewis-McChord in Pierce County, Washington. According to the report, Lee was upset with Beadle for talking to her boyfriend CM Punk backstage and launched into an obscenity-laced tirade on her.
Beadle explained the event via Twitter when a user said, "You should have slapped AJ Lee when she got in your face," Beadle wrote, "Meh. I thought it was a joke."
Beadle also responded to an upset Lee fan on Twitter saying, "Hon...it was done in front of company people. I didn't say a word. I thought it was a joke."
The report indicates that many important people in the WWE witnessed the event and that the tirade--mixed with the fact that Natalya is on the WWE's Total Divas television show--could lead to a victory for Natalya at TLC.
Chris Jericho teased a return to the show on Twitter following his band Fozzy's tour wrapping up:
Wrestlingheadlines.com noted that a tag match pitting Tensai and Brodus Clay vs. Xavier Woods and R-Truth may be added to the card but it isn't a definite match.
Heading into Sunday night, here is the final card for the pay-per-view event without the rumored tag match:
