Dallas Mavericks star Kyrie Irving revealed the behind-the-scenes work that went into his tough game-winning shot over Denver Nuggets star Nikola Jokic during their game on Sunday, March 17, at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas.
With the game tied at 105 with 2.8 seconds left, Irving nailed a running left-handed floater just behind the free-throw line, evading the outstretched arms of the reigning NBA Finals MVP, to secure the victory for the Mavericks as the clock hit zero.

"Sometimes I spend just an hour straight just working on straight left-hand stuff," the 31-year-old said.
After the shot, Irving sprinted toward his teammates coming off the bench and was immediately swarmed near midcourt.

"Just being a small guard, you've just got to have a multitude of finishes. And that's something I've been working on since I was a kid," the 6-foot-2 point guard added.
Irving concluded the game with 24 points, shooting 9-of-23 from the field, and contributed seven rebounds and nine assists for the night.
Meanwhile, Luka Doncic led Dallas with 37 points on 12-of-27 shooting, nine rebounds, and three assists.
The Mavericks have now won five of their last six games, placing them seventh in the highly competitive Western Conference standings with a record of 39-29.
