Iowa Hawkeyes star Caitlin Clark recreated a celebrated pose made famous by the late Los Angeles Lakers legend Kobe Bryant, following her pivotal role in leading Iowa to their third consecutive Big Ten Championship.

Seated in the shower, the 22-year-old held the championship trophy, striking a somber pose reminiscent of Bryant's iconic photo after the Lakers secured the NBA Championship in 2001.

Bryant's pose reflected genuine sadness, largely due to a strained relationship with his parents, according to Chris Ballard of Sports Illustrated.

Their disapproval of his decision to marry Vanessa Laine (now Vanessa Bryant) due to numerous differences led to a falling out. Consequently, they chose not to attend their son's wedding.

Tension persisted, and Kobe's father, Joe Bryant, did not attend a single game during the 2001 NBA Finals because of these unresolved family issues.

The Iowa Hawkeyes staged a remarkable comeback to push the game into overtime, ultimately defeating the Nebraska Cornhuskers, 94-89, in the Big Ten Championship game on Sunday, March 10, at the Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Clark finished the evening with 34 points, 12 assists, seven rebounds, and three steals, even though she faced initial struggles by missing her first nine three-point attempts and recording a season-low four points in the first half.

"We just found a way to win, and that speaks to the team that we have, the maturity we have on this group, I just think this team is never out of a game," the NCAA's all-time leading scorer said.
