Renowned global music sensation Drake has weighed in on the much-anticipated clash between Francis Ngannou and Anthony Joshua, set to take place on Friday, March 8, at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

The Canadian hip-hop artist has chosen the Cameroonian ex-UFC fighter to emerge victorious in the match, placing a massive bet of $615,000 with odds set at 3.10 on the sports gambling platform Stake, with which he has a partnership deal.

If Ngannou triumphs over Joshua, the five-time Grammy Award winner will rake in a whopping $1,906,500.

Drake has built a reputation for placing substantial bets on significant sports events through Stake. In a recent example, he wagered $1.15 million on the Kansas City Chiefs to win Super Bowl 58 against the San Francisco 49ers.

The 37-year-old musician had the chance to potentially win $2,346,000 with this bet. In an Instagram caption, he humorously remarked, "I can't bet against the swifties."

What is the Drake curse?

The "Drake curse" has become an online phenomenon, referring to a pattern where a sports team or athlete experiences a negative outcome in their subsequent match after interacting with the hitmaker.

This often involves Drake taking a photo with the individuals involved or making a bet on them in the Stake platform. It remains to be seen if this will affect Ngannou in his upcoming match against Joshua.
