Although Ferrari and its drivers are hesitant to say if they could rival Red Bull, they are definitely in a much better position than last year. With a long season upon us, Ferrari could possibly shake up the championship moving into the second half of the season, similar to how Red Bull did in 2022.

As expected, Ferrari's drivers Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz qualified well and finished as the second fastest team behind Red Bull. Sainz had a podium finish in P3 after a P4 qualifying and Leclerc dropped to P4 after qualifying P2.

Ferrari and Mercedes will most likely battle for 2nd place in the Constructor's Championship again in 2024. The two teams looked to be neck and neck in qualifying and in race pace; but both also suffered from some issues that affected their race day performances.

Ferrari had breaking difficulties and Mercedes had some overheating issues that pushed both teams' premier drivers further away from Red Bull. Red Bull have shown some cracks in their armor and Bahrain's track best suited their car, so future races in this long 2024 season will be interesting as the gap could get smaller and smaller down the line.

Qualifying was very close in Bahrain, therefore street circuits will be interesting and could possibly give a better chance to other teams like Ferrari in snatching wins from Red Bull, who seem to be not as dominant as last year but still hold a great race pace. Leclerc's masterful qualifying ability will be crucial for Ferrari, but it must translate to race day for the Prancing Horses to win Grand Prix races.
