Iowa Hawkeyes star Caitlin Clark has solidified her legacy by becoming the all-time leading scorer in NCAA Division I basketball for both the men's and women's divisions, overtaking the late LSU Tigers legend and Basketball Hall of Famer, "Pistol Pete" Maravich.

This milestone was achieved during her final regular-season game at home against the Ohio State Buckeyes on Sunday, March 3, at the Carver-Hawkeye Arena in Iowa City.

Entering the game, Clark needed 18 points to claim the record, and she successfully accomplished it with two free throws in the closing moments of the first half.

"It probably won't hit me until a little bit later but just gonna enjoy it with my family and my teammates and just really thankful to be in this place," the 22-year-old said after the game.

Former world number 1 player Billie Jean King, who is widely regarded as one of the greatest tennis players of all-time, shared a heartfelt message to Clark on social media platform X, formerly Twitter.

The 80-year-old tennis icon is a known advocate of gender equality, with her message to Clark containing the hashtag #WomenMakingHistory.

Her final regular season scoring tally at the collegiate level stands at 3.685 points, compared to Maravich's 3,667.
