The Milwaukee Bucks have not been up to par since head coach Doc Rivers assumed the role at the end of January 2024, which included the unexpected dismissal of former head coach Adrian Griffin after only 43 games.
Despite Griffin achieving a decent record of 30-13, concerns about his leadership and fit to the team led to his departure from Milwaukee.
Rivers, a 2008 NBA champion with the Boston Celtics, has encountered difficulties in making a positive impact so far, evidenced by a 3-7 record in his initial ten games leading up to the All-Star break.
This situation prompted criticism from former player and current ESPN analyst JJ Redick during an episode of "First Take." The sharpshooter shared bold comments, expressing his observations about one of the Top 15 Coaches in NBA History.
"I've seen the trend for years. The trend is always making excuses. We get it. Taking over a team in the middle of the season is hard. Just like getting traded in the middle of the season is hard for a player. But it's always an excuse. There's never accountability with that guy," the 39-year-old said.
Redick played under Rivers with the Los Angeles Clippers for four seasons from 2013-14 to 2016-17. He started 265 of the 266 games that he played for the team.

What did Patrick Beverley say about JJ Redick?
Bucks guard Patrick Beverley, who joined the team through a trade earlier this month, defended his head coach via the social media platform X, formerly Twitter.
"This Man Doc actually saved your career. Started you when no one else wanted 2. And u retire, go on TV, and say that," the 35-year-old said.
Redick responded he had several offers from other teams when he joined the Clippers.
"Pat, my guy, I had a four-year offer with a player option for the same money to be a starter for a different team. FOH "saved my career," the analyst said.
Beverley already had played for Rivers with the Clippers from 2017 to 2021, although Rivers left the team in 2020.
The three-time NBA Alll-Defensive Team member fired back for the last time to Redick, asking, "Why didn't u take it then? U was comfy in your role with team. And don't just say LA."
Austin Rivers also slams JJ Redick
Doc Rivers' son, former NBA player Austin Rivers, who now works in broadcasting, also criticized the sharpshooter for his comments about his father.
"In terms of accountability, your best years in the NBA were when you played for him and the Clippers... It's just very ironic and kinda weird that you have this energy towards him," the 31-year-old said.
