Kelsey Plum was just a spectator at the NBA All-Star Weekend festivities, but she still managed to take the spotlight.

First was her exchange with Youtuber Tristan Jass during the All-Star Celebrity Game when he asked her to pass the ball.

Their exchange extended to X, formerly Twitter, when Jass returned the favor by bringing up her career stats in assists. That is not the last thing she trended over, though.

For Plum, the cameras continue to follow her, but some people got details about her personal life wrong. A verified X account with more than 670,000 followers uploaded a photo of Plum sharing a kiss with a guy whom the account named Devin Booker of the Phoenix Suns.

The post received 1 million engagements. The account doubled down on its post by retweeting it 20 hours after its first posting, despite many users pointing out that it had the guy's name wrong.

The resemblance is there, but it was not the NBA star. The photo is not from the NBA All-Star Weekend but last October when the Aces won the WNBA title.

Kelsey Plum's husband is an NFL player

Plum, who plays for the Las Vegas Aces, is married to New York Giants tight end Darren Waller.

Waller signed a $51 million deal with the Las Vegas Raiders in 2022 before being traded to the Giants last year.

Celebrity gossips reported that they first met in 2021 as players for Las Vegas and they have been dating privately since then.

They were seen together in several events but never confirmed their relationship until their marriage on March 4, 2023.

They are regarded as one of the power couples in sports because of their achievement. It must be noted, however, that Plum dominates her field through individual and team achievements.

Waller, 31, is a one-time Pro Bowl awardee and was ranked 58th by his fellow players on the NFL Top 100 Players of 2022.

Injury derailed his momentum, though, and in 2023, he only played 12 out of the 11 games due to a hamstring injury.

Plum, for her part, is one of the best female basketball players in the world.

She won the World Cup twice and almost all of the Player of the Year awards in 2017.

She won the WNBA title twice in the professional ranks and was named to the WNBA All-Star Game twice.

She was also named the WNBA All-Star Game MVP in 2002.

Kelsey Plum and Darren Waller's romance

There is a reason why Waller was mistaken for Booker over the weekend. Aside from the uncanny resemblance, he and Kelsey never really wanted their relationship to be public.

They even lamented when their wedding date was leaked to the media. Not even her team was supposed to know.

"It was something I wanted to keep ultimately, completely private from the team," Waller told AP's Pro Football podcast.

"We were in San Diego, and we went to Torrey Pines [State Natural Preserve Park] and there's this hike to where the beach is. We went up on this rock where it's out on the water and I had a photographer there. That's what I had planned for it."

They have been very vocal about their love since then through their social media posts.

When Las Vegas traded Waller after their honeymoon, he was hurt. Plum was extra supportive.

With him out of Las Vegas, they are now in a long-distance relationship, which Plum described as work.

For his part, Waller is thankful for a very understanding and supportive wife as they try to achieve their dreams.

"She supports me and wants to see me shine to my ultimate potential as a player while I still have the opportunity, so I'm grateful to have her support," Waller told reporters during a Giants press conference. "And we're going to do whatever it takes to remain strong together."
