The Milwaukee Bucks have dismissed head coach Adrian Griffin after 43 games, according to ESPN NBA Insider Adrian Wojnarowski.
Assistant coach Joe Prunty is expected to take over as head coach, Wojnarowski reported.
According to Chris Mannix of Sports Illustrated, there have been steady rumblings for weeks in NBA Circles, including Bucks star Giannis Antetokumpo losing faith in Griffin.
Griffin was hired by the Milwaukee Bucks last summer after a tenure with the Toronto Raptors as the assistant to replace Mike Budenholzer, former head coach of the Bucks. He has also spent time with the Chicago Bulls, Orlando Magic, and Oklahoma City Thunder.
He was expected to lead a team that also made some significant changes in the offseason, including trading for Damian Lillard.
The Bucks, who are fresh off a 122-113 win on Monday against the league-worst Detroit Pistons in their most recent game, are currently 30-13 on the season which is good for the second best record in the NBA behind the Boston Celtics.
One candidate the Bucks may be looking to add to as the new head coach is Doc Rivers, according Chris B Haynes of Bleacher Report.
Rivers, who currently serves as analyst on ESPN, is fresh off a stint with the Philadelphia 76ers losing in the Eastern Conference Semifinals within seven games.
Though we're unsure if Rivers is the guy for Milwaukee, it would be a splash move that could potentially shake the league to its core.
