The UFC 299 is slated in March yet, but the promotion company already has something exciting lined up for the next one, which was first announced last month.
The UFC 300 main event details were not there yet, but after Tuesday's news from Dana White, the wait was worth it.
There are so many storylines to dissect from the April 13, 2024 mixed martial event, and here are the Top 4.
1. Baddest M*****F***** bout
Justin Gaethje owns the BMF title, which stands for "Baddest Motherfucker." He will try to defend it against Max Holloway in the Lightweight division.
The BMF is just a symbolic title, and Gaethje thought it was stupid when he first heard of it.
However, his opinion about it changed over time, and now, the symbolic title becomes a bad-ass monicker.
"This belt, just like interim belts, on paper, are a championship. You are a champion in the eyes of the UFC, and when you are a champion in the eyes of the UFC, you get paid different," he said last year.
Who will be the Baddest MF by the end of UFC 300?
2. Chinese female fighters to slug it out
For the first time in UFC history, two Chinese fighters will go at it in a fight White said has "bad-ass written all over it."
Zhang Weili will defend her title against Yan Xiaonan in the women's Strawweight division.
Expect a fiery showdown between the two. Zhang is currently ranked as the top pound-for-pound women's MMA fighter, while Yan, ranked No. 7, is inching her way up.
Yan Xiaonan initially wanted the event to take place in China. She believes she is the underdog in the fight and even has more haters in her home country than fans.
3. Cody Garbrandt vs Deiveson Figueiredo - 3 years in the making
The two were supposed to meet in the octagon in November 2020 for UFC 255, but Figueiredo was forced to withdraw due to a torn bicep.
The stars have aligned, and they will finally face each other at UFC 300 under the Bantamweight division.
The exciting part is that Figueiredo appears as a favorite even if Garbrandt has been active since 2020.
UFC bantamweight champion Sean O'Malley did not expect Garbrandt to accept a bout against the former two-time champ, saying, "One, he's really dumb, or shows you; two, he's f*cking really confident."
4. Bo Nickal continues to grow his legend vs Cody Brundage
Nickal is one of the hottest fighters right now, and in UFC 300, he has a chance to get noticed by more prominent names.
The 28-year-old holds an undefeated record in five games, two via knockout and three via submission.
He surprised everyone at the UFC 290 after knocking out Val Woodburn in just 38 seconds.
His opponent can dish it out, too. Cody Brundage earned the Performance of the Night title at the UFC on ESPN 52 last month after a first-round knockout against Zachary Breese.
