After firing head coach Ron Rivera, the Washington Commanders will begin their search for a new coach this off-season.
The Commanders look to have a busy offseason, after a long 4-13 season that saw ownership change during the offseason.
They currently own the second pick in the upcoming 2024 NFL Draft and are looking for the right coach to turn the team around after an abysmal season.
Here is a list of names that the Commanders have reached out to or have expressed some interest in.
NFL Commanders: Jim Harbaugh
According to Sportskeeda's Tony Pauline, the Commanders are showing "significant interest" in Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh. His last coaching tenure in the NFL was with the San Francisco 49ers in 2011, where he coached the team to a superbowl in 2013.
Harbaugh's other prior coaching tenures included Stanford and San Diego University before becoming the coach for the 49ers. Now, he has spent the better part of the last nine seasons with Michigan and would like to win a national championship to cap off his tenure with them, as Michigan takes on the University of Washington tonight in the College Football Championship game.
The Commanders bringing in Harburgh after potentially winning a National Championship is a splash move as he has the necessary experience to turn the franchise around.

NFL Commanders: Ben Johnson and Aaron Glenn
According to Tom Pelissero of the NFL, the Commanders have reached out about interviewing Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson and defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn for potential coaching roles.
Johnson, who is one of the most coveted NFL coaching candidates in the league currently, has been the Detroit offensive coordinator since 2020 and was a former quarterback at the University of North Carolina. Throughout his coaching career he has made stops with the Miami Dolphins as a tight ends coach and an offensive assistant before joining the Lions.
Aaron Glenn, another potential coaching candidate, serves as the defensive coordinator of the Detroit Lions. Glenn has been with Detroit since 2021 after stops with the Browns and Saints as a defensive backs coach.
Either coach would be a strong candidate for the Commanders, as both coaches have played key parts in the Lion's resurgence. Aaron Glenn played a role in turning the Lions into an elite defensive club as Johnson played a role in turning the Lions offense into one of the premier scoring clubs in the league; with him helping turn quarterback Jared Goff's career around after getting traded from the Los Angeles Rams to the Detroit Lions.
NFL Commanders: Raheem Morris
The Washington Commanders have requested permission to interview the Los Angeles Rams's defensive coach, Raheem Morris.
Morris has an impressive resume that includes two tenures with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as a defensive coordinator under Jon Gruden. He was later promoted to head coach of the Buccaneers when Gruden was fired and then served as a secondary coach in Washington for two years. Morris worked in Washington alongside Mike Shanahan, Kyle Shanahan, Matt LaFleur, and Sean McVay.
NFL Commanders: Eric Bieniemy
Though his name has yet to appear as a potential candidate for the Washington Commanders, offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy would be the ideal person for the job. Bieniemy brings championship experience to the Commanders, spending time with the Kansas City Chiefs' Andy Reid, where he won two Super Bowls as his offensive coordinator.
Also, Bieniemy would get a chance to draw up schemes for what would likely be a rookie quarterback in Week 1 of the 2024 season, as he is already familiar with the roster and knows the team's schemes.
