As we march to the final week of the NFL season, the Chicago Bears have big questions to answer in the off-season.

One question, in particular, involves whether they should keep quarterback Justin Fields for the 2024 season or use their first pick to take another potential franchise-defining quarterback.

The Bears are currently 7-9 on the season ahead of the Week 18 matchup against the NFC North Division rival Green Bay Packers.

Despite a poor start to Fields' season, the third-year quarterback has been able to turn it around with some great play as of late, leading the Bears to win four of their last five games.

However, it would be hard not to consider the possibility of moving on from Fields given a draft with multiple top quarterback prospects.

The Bears currently own the first overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft after the trade with the Carolina Panthers last year, who will finish with the worst record in the NFL as they are currently 2-14 heading into Week 18.

The Bears will also have another high draft pick this year, currently holding their own pick at 10th.

With two top-ten picks and a roster full of young talent, one will have to wonder if the Bears will keep Fields as their quarterback going forward or if they will take a flier on one of the top quarterbacks in this year's draft.

NFL Bears Justin Fields: Keep Fields

If the Bears opt to keep Fields, it's easy to see the team trading down in the 2024 NFL Draft, likely getting another weapon for Fields in the passing game.  They also have a chance to draft another piece for their offensive line to help protect the dynamic young quarterback.

The Bears drafted Fields with the 11th pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. Since then, his time in Chicago has been very rocky, playing under two different coaches and the Bears not being able to clinch a winning season with the dynamic dual-threat quarterback.

If the plan is to keep the Fields for the long haul, surrounding the 24-year-old quarterback with more offensive talent would better build success in Chicago.

NFL Bears Justin Fields: Trade Fields

If the Bears opt to keep the first overall pick, they will likely take one of the top quarterback prospects in this year's draft, which probably means Fields' time in Chicago would be likely over.

The Bears will likely have a chance at taking USC Caleb Williams or UNC quarterback Drake Maye.

Both quarterbacks are studs at their respective programs and will likely be impact players for the Bears if the team does decide to move on from Fields.
