Dolphins 30 - Jets 0

Quarterback Zach Wilson leaves the game concussed as Jets fans heads throb in devastating loss to Miami Dolphins who officially eliminate Jets from possible playoff berth.

Hope is a dangerous thing to have as a New York Jets fan. Coming off a spectacular win against the Houston Texans last week, dropping 30 points in a half; the Jets ironically got blown out by the Dolphins, by 30 points.

The game started off somewhat slow, Jets defense forcing Miami to punt on the first drive. But eventually Miami's defense set the tone for the game. Jets quarterback Zach Wilson ran for his life initially and completed a few nice plays, but ultimately couldn't evade the Dolphins pressure much longer. Just over five minutes into the first quarter, Wilson was engulfed by multiple Phins defenders and fumbled the ball with Miami recovering it on the Jets 1-yard line. Dolphins running back Raheem Mostert was quick to get his first of two rushing touchdowns of the day.

Bradley Chubb, who some can say cost the Dolphins the game against the Tennessee Titans last week, definitely atoned for his penalty last week with a monstrous three sack game this week. The irony continues as the #2 on the Dolphins defense left the Jets #2 on offense shaken up on the play. Wilson carried on in the game but continued to get hammered, with him eventually getting taken out about midway through the second quarter due to concussion protocol. Trevor Siemian came in as the relief quarterback, but no relief was given to Jets fans.

The Jets' woes are to not discredit how well the Dolphins played. Miami's defense was smothering routes, bottling up running lanes, and relentless on the pass rush. The Dolphins offense was just as explosive even without their best playmaker in wide receiver Tyreek Hill. Jaylen Waddle, Miami's other threat at wideout, proved that he could fill the shoes of Hill when called upon. Waddle tallied eight catches, 142 yards, and a 60-yard touchdown as he smoked the Jets.

Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers looks despondent on the sideline watching every quarterback behind the Jets offensive line get run over. Seemingly now, Rodgers rapid return from an Achilles tear went from a remarkable story to an insane narrative. The four-time NFL MVP should be wise enough to see that entering into the game behind a turnstile of an offensive line would be cataclysmic to his own health.

Just to top off on the irony within this game, with the Jets being blown out by 30 points, Miami backup quarterback came into the game to take the final knee. This back QB was at one point last year the Jets starting quarterback, Mike White.
