Los Angeles Chargers starting quarterback, Justin Herbert, is reportedly out for the remainder of the 2023 NFL season. Herbert will need surgery on his right index finger, reported by Ian Rapoport. Chargers coach Brandon Staley believes this is best for LA's star quarterback in the long-term.

Easton Stick, who relieved Herbert when he sustained the injury against the Denver Broncos this past week, will resume duty as the Chargers starting quarterback till season's end. Herbert has started for 62 consecutive games since his debut in 2020. This was the second longest quarterback starting streak; only behind Buffalo Bills quarterback, Josh Allen, who has 84 consecutive starts. The LA Chargers have had a rocky season and this may be the right call by coach Staley for the future. Unfortunately, this will likely lead to the Chargers concluding yet another underwhelming season.
