Trevor Lawrence of the Jacksonville Jaguars suffered a high ankle sprain and could return at some point this season. However, there was a bit of controversy that cropped up when the Pro Bowl QB incurred the injury in the team's loss to the Cincinnati Bengals on Monday, December 4.
The controversy stemmed from Lawrence not being carted off the field after the injury. This spurred claims that the Jags did not have carts available at the stadium.
But it turns out that Lawrence did not want to get carted off. The top pick of the 2021 NFL Draft told Michael DiRocco of ESPN that Lawrence said not to bring it out while getting a cart was suggested.

"We have everything we need, and I was the one that didn't choose to take [a cart] so you guys put that on me. Maybe that was dumb. Maybe I should have taken one, but it's nothing to do with us not having a cart available," the Jaguars play-caller said.
When is Trevor Lawrence returning for the Jaguars?
With that issue settled, the more pressing concern is when Trevor Lawrence can return to action. The Jaguars are set to face the Cleveland Browns on Sunday, December 10.
It remains unclear if Lawrence will be available against the Browns. Coach Doug Pederson said that although the former Clemson Tiger avoided serious injury and is stable, they will monitor him in the next couple of days, SI.com reported.
"We'll see where he is here in a couple of days," Pederson said.
Lawrence is thankful NFL season is not yet over
As for Lawrence, learning that it was not a severe injury gave him a massive sigh of relief. He did not practice on Wednesday, and Pederson clarified that they will not sacrifice Lawrence's health for one game.
"I'm thankful it's not a worse injury than what I thought on the field," Lawrence said via NFL.com.
