The Houston Texans and the Denver Broncos collide in a Week 13 matchup as the two teams ramp up their drive for a playoff spot at the NRG Stadium on Sunday, December 3, with kick-off at 1:00 p.m. ET.
The Broncos have been on a roll lately, racking up five straight wins. Their last came at the expense of the Cleveland Browns on Sunday, November 26, 29-12. Their current streak is a dramatic turnaround, considering Denver started the season with three straight losses.
The Texans, on the other hand, have had an up-and-down season so far. They also started the season with two straight losses before nabbing their first win at the expense of the Jacksonville Jaguars, 37-17, in September.
Houston had a streak of its own before bowing to the Jaguars in their second meeting, 24-21, on Sunday, November 26, per ESPN.
Texans vs. Broncos Week 13 Odds
Heading into this Week 13 clash, the Texans are 3.5-point spread favorites to prevail over the Broncos. The Moneyline for this game is -190 for Houston and +155 for Denver, with the over/under at 47.5, per BetMGM NFL odds via USA Today.
But with huge stakes on the line, expect the Broncos to try and cover the spread. They are also out to keep their winning streak going. Their five-game winning run is the team's longest since the 2015 season.
Texans vs. Broncos Week 13 Preview
A player to watch for the Texans is CJ Stroud. The rookie play-caller has done an excellent job for Houston this season. He is ranked second in the NFL with 3,266 yards passing and has thrown 19 touchdown passes with just five interceptions.
But one thing that Texans coach DeMeco Ryans is concerned about is the defense that the Broncos are putting up. He believes that this is one of the reasons why Denver has been able to get their winning run going.
"The biggest thing that I've seen from the Broncos and how they've turned things around is how their defense is attacking the football," he pointed out.
True enough, the improved defensive efforts have done wonders for the Broncos since their Week 3 meltdown against the Miami Dolphins, the Associated Press reported.
"Our defense has been lights out. One of the best defenses in the world. Those guys have been unbelievable. ... We've handled the adversity. The reality is that we have a lot more ball to go. We have to stay humble and hungry. We have a lot more to do. We feel like we're just getting started," Broncos QB Russell Wilson said.
However, Denver needs to do its share on the offensive end. Wilson will be at the helm, although he may find the going rough against an expected rowdy hometown crowd at the NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas.
Texans vs. Broncos Week 13 Pick
The Texans have everything in their favor, which makes them the team to pull off a win over the Broncos.
However, Wilson and company are not about to take the Texans lightly. Houston needs to work on this and find a way to get through the Denver defense.
