Who is in Coach Prime's Recruiting Class for Colorado Football in 2024?

Coach Deion Sanders has injected a phenomenal amount of juice into the Colorado Buffaloes' football program in a remarkably short period of time, doing so in the 2023 season without a full class of his own recruits. Following an incredibly hyped first season in Boulder, Coach Prime is retooling with what's shaping up to be a talented recruiting class in 2024. Colorado currently has nine verbal commitments according to Rivals.com, with three four-star prospects and six three-star recruits. This group includes four defensive lineman as Sanders looks to improve a defense that ranks as one of the worst in college football in 2023.  Here, we take a closer look at the commitments Coach Prime has secured for 2024.

Who is in Coach Prime's recruiting class for 2024?

Kamron Mikell - ATH - Statesboro, GA

Hailing from Statesboro, Georgia, Kamron Mikell brings versatility and athleticism to the Buffaloes. Standing at 6'0" and weighing in at 173 pounds, Mikell is a dynamic playmaker who excels in multiple positions. With a four star rating on Rivals.com, he is set to make a significant impact on both sides of the ball, similar to current two-way star Travis Hunter.

Brandon Davis-Swain - DE - West Bloomfield, MI

Hailing from West Bloomfield, Michigan, Davis-Swain is a formidable defensive end at 6'3" and 246 pounds. With a stellar four-star rating, Davis-Swain is expected to be a handful for opposing lineman. His commitment adds strength and athleticism to a defensive line that is slated to get a lot of reinforcement next season.

Aaron Butler - WR - Calabasas, CA

Colorado's talented receiving corps gets richer with the addition of Aaron Butler from Calabasas, California. Standing at 6'0" and weighing 170 pounds, Butler is a versatile wide receiver with a four-star rating. He adds to the team's aerial assault along with returning receivers Hunter, Jimmy Horn Jr., and Omarion Miller.

Issiah Walker - OL - El Dorado, KS

Protecting quarterback Shedeur Sanders is a top priority, and the Buffaloes have addressed this need with the addition of three-star recruit Issiah Walker from El Dorado, Kansas. At an imposing 6'5" and 290 pounds, Walker is a force on the offensive line.

Amontrae Bradford - DE - Statesboro, GA

Another standout from Statesboro, Georgia, Bradford, should provide a much needed boost to the Buffaloes' defense. Standing tall at 6'5" and weighing 210 pounds, Bradford brings a combination of size and speed that will make him a disruptive force on the edge.

Micah Welch - RB - Milledgeville, GA

Welch, a running back from Milledgeville, Georgia, is a compact powerhouse at 5'9" and 195 pounds. With a three star rating, Welch possesses the speed and agility to break tackles and run through defenses. He adds depth to the Buffaloes' backfield behind Dylan Edwards and Anthony Hankerson.

Zycarl Lewis Jr. - WR - Venice, FL

Joing Butler as another receiving core weapon for Sanders is Zycarl Lewis Jr. from Venice, Florida. Standing at 5'10" and weighing 160 pounds, Lewis is a dynamic playmaker with a three-star rating.

Eric Brantley Jr. - DT - Valdosta, GA

Hailing from Valdosta, Georgia, Brantley Jr. is an undersized, but strong force on the defensive line at 6'1" and 250 pounds. With a three-star rating, Brantley Jr. brings strength and tenacity to the Buffaloes' interior defense.

Omar White - DT - Leesburg, GA

Joining Brantley Jr. at defensive tackle is Omar White from Leesburg, Georgia. Significantly larger at 6'4" and weighing 290 pounds, White is a massive presence in the trenches with a three-star rating.

Expect plenty more highly-ranked recruits to join Colorado's class as recruiting season heats up, thanks to the amazing buzz that Deion Sanders and his son Shedeur have helped create for a football program that was desperately in need of a boost.
