Golf icon Tiger Woods is poised to make his competitive comeback to the sport after a six-month hiatus at the 2023 Hero World Challenge golf tournament.
The annual event has been hosted by Woods himself since 2000, and features a limited field of the twenty top-ranked golf professionals.
Although part of the PGA Tour schedule, the Hero World Challenge is classified as an unofficial event, meaning it doesn't contribute FedEx Cup points or official money. However, the tournament serves a charitable purpose, benefitting the Tiger Woods Foundation.
Woods has secured victory in the event on five occasions, triumphing in 2001, 2004, 2006, 2007, and 2011. He is the winningest player in the tournament's history.
Tiger Woods return date
Woods' return in competitive golf is scheduled for the this year's Hero World Challenge, which is set to take place from November 30 to December 3 at the Albany Golf Course in the Bahamas.

Recent reports state that Woods is planning to play in five to six golf tournaments in 2024, per Wion News.
