Los Angeles Clippers star Kawhi Leonard is undoubtedly one of the best players in the league, yet in stark contrast to many of his peers, he maintains a notably low profile.
The two-time NBA Finals MVP is recognized for his reserved and quiet demeanor, opting to let his on-court performance speak for itself. Additionally, he refrains from flaunting extravagant possessions.
The 6-foot-7 forward doesn't have a presence on social media. Although he has an account on X, formerly Twitter, his last post dates back to 2015. Leonard's family, much like himself, keep themselves lowkey, with minimal headlines surrounding them.
Here's what we know about Kawhi Leonard's girlfriend and family for those with curious minds.
Kawhi Leonard's Girlfriend: Kishele Shipley
Leonard is currently in a relationship with Kishele Shipley, and the couple has two children together.
The couple initially met while both students at San Diego State University. Leonard played college basketball for the San Diego Aztects from 2009 to 2011, and it is presumed that this is the timeframe when their paths crossed.
Shipley gave birth to their first child in 2016, and they named their daughter Kaliyah. In April 2019, Leonard missed a late regular season game against the Chicago Bulls, which was revealed to be due to the birth of their second child, a son, whose name has not been publicized yet as of 2023.
Upon winning his second NBA championship as a member of the Toronto Raptors in 2019, Leonard took his girlfriend on a vacation in Barbados.
In 2022, speculation about an engagement swirled as Shipley was observed at LAX with Leonard, wearing a noticeable shiny ring. However, neither of the couple confirmed the rumors.

Kawhi Leonard's Family
Leonard was born to Mark Leonard and Kim Robertson. The hooper is the youngest child in the family, and he has four older sisters. Kawhi's parents divorced when he was five, and he mainly lived with his mother in Moreno Valley.
Regrettably, his father, Mark, suffered a tragic fate as he was shot and killed on January 18, 2008, at the Compton car wash he owned when Kawhi was in high school. The individual responsible for the crime has not been found as of today.
Despite the tragic event, Leonard displayed remarkable resilience by participating in his high school team's game, which took place just 24 hours after the heartbreaking incident.
"Basketball is my life, and I wanted to go out there and take my mind off it. It was real sad. My father was supposed to be at the game," Leonard said during that time.
Kimesha Williams, one of Leonard's sisters, was sentenced to life in prison without parole in April 2023 for her involvement in the murder of 84-year-old Afaf Assad in the summer of 2019.
Williams and a woman named Candace Townsell not only robbed Assad of her purse but also inflicted fatal injuries by breaking her skull. This incident occurred at the Pechanga Resort Casino in Temecula, California.
