The New York Jets quarterback problem is far from resolved, and head coach Robert Saleh finds himself in a tight situation.
Jets quarterback Zach Wilson was benched late in the third quarter against the Buffalo Bills, but the move hardly paid off. Tim Boyle subbed for Wilson but hardly fared better. The Jets went on to lose to the Bills, 32-6, on Sunday, November 19, at Highmark Stadium in Orchard Park, New York via The Athletic.
Before he was benched, Wilson was 7/15 passing for 81 yards, one touchdown, and one interception. He posted a rating of 57.9 per KSL Sports.

After losing the AFC East matchup, Saleh is left in a bind as he needs to decide on the Jets quarterback void. They will face the Miami Dolphins in their next assignment on Friday, November 24, and it will be interesting to see who the Jets will have as their starting play-caller.
Given their latest loss to the Bills, Saleh has three options.
Stick with Tim Boyle
Although he did not fare well, Saleh believes Boyle did well against the Bills.
"Tim came in, he was decisive and got rid of the ball. The fourth ball throw at the end was a bit of a force trying to get the ball out of his hands, but he did some good things," the Jets coach said about the 29-year-old player in the post-game presser.
Go back to Zach Wilson
When Saleh opted to bench Wilson for Boyle, he explained that he wanted to see if they could get something going. Also, he told the 24-year-old QB that the move was not because he played bad.
On his part, Wilson admitted that the change was befuddling. While he knew that the Jets were struggling, such moves must be made for the team's betterment.
"It felt like one of those games where we couldn't do anything," Wilson said via the New York Post. "It felt like one of those games everything felt really hard."
Trevor Siemian could get a chance
If not Wilson or Boyle, Saleh could turn to Trevor Siemen, who was recently signed to the practice squad. The 31-year-old has had 31 career starts and made it clear that he signed not to show up Wilson or Boyle.
"As a backup quarterback in this league that's kind of your challenge, is how fast you can pick things up," Siemian said back in September via SI.com.
When he signed, Siemian knew he had to learn the plays to get his chance to quarterback the Jets. With more than two months since his signing, that time could be on Friday against the Dolphins.
