The present women's basketball landscape boasts an extraordinary wealth of talent, arguably the most in its history.

With much attention on these players nowadays, some notable players have stood out and will surely make an impact for their teams this campaign.

Here are the top five women's college basketball players for the 2023-24 season:

5. Elizabeth Kitley, Virginia Tech Hokies

The 22-year-old will be suiting up for her final season with the Hokies as a fifth-year senior, which was granted due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The two-time ACC Player of the Year averaged 18.2 points, 10.7 rebounds, 1.5 assists, and a resounding 2.4 blocks per game in the 2022-23 season, leading her team to their first Final Four appearance in last year's NCAA Tournament.

Widely regarded as one of the greatest athletes in the school's history, the 6-foot-6 center will be looking to make her final college campaign a season to remember.

4. Paige Bueckers, UConn Huskies

Buecker put on one of the most dominant rookie campaigns in women's college basketball history in 2020-21, becoming the first freshman to win several national Player of the Year honors, including the AP Player of the Year and Naismith College Player of the Year.

After a decent sophomore season, the 22-year-old tore the ACL on her left knee in August 2022, causing her to miss the 2022-23 season. She gained an additional year of eligibility due to missing last year's campaign, and with Bueckers back, the Huskies are now aiming to return to the championship picture.

3. Cameron Brink, Stanford Cardinal

The 6-foot-4 is one of the most intimidating inside presences in women's college basketball after she averaged an astounding 3.5 blocks per game last season and winning WBCA NCAA Division I Defensive Player of the Year honors.

She also contributed 15.1 points and 9.6 rebounds per game, making her arguably one of the best forwards in the country coming into the 2023-24 season.

With a national championship already on her name since 2021, the 21-year-old will be looking to add for more.

2. Angel Reese, LSU Tigers

The 21-year-old had an exceptional first season in LSU after transferring from Maryland, leading the Tigers to the National Championship at the expense of Caitlin Clark and the Iowa Hawkeyes.

Reese claimed the NCAA Tournament Most Outstanding Player award, setting the NCAA single-season record with 34 double-doubles.

She averaged 23.0 points, 15.4 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 1.8 steals, and 1.6 blocks in 33.6 minutes per game in the 2022-23 season.

1. Caitlin Clark, Iowa Hawkeyes

Clark is almost unanimously considered the best player in the country, leading the Hawkeyes to the national championship game last season, albeit coming up short.

The incoming senior broke both the men's and women's scoring records for a single NCAA tournament, scoring a total of 191 points. Additionally, her 60 assists set a new record for the most assists by a player in women's tournament history.

The 21-year-old averaged 27.8 points, 7.1 rebounds, 8.6 assists, 1.5 steals, and 0.5 blocks in 34.4 minutes per game as she swept all major national player of the year awards in her junior season, including the AP Player of the Year.

Clark established new records in the Big Ten Conference for single-season points, assists, three-pointers, and free throws while matching her previous conference record with five triple-doubles.
