Francis Ngannou wants another crack at Tyson Fury, although that may take some time since the Gypsy King is scheduled to face Oleksandr Usyk next. However, the former 37-year-old combat sports superstar does not mind.

The Fury-Ngannou fight, billed "Battle of the Baddest," occurred on October 28 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Although Ngannou was able to knock Fury in the third round, the boxing champion won via split decision, the Guardian reported.

The former UFC heavyweight champion was not content with the decision, so the desire to have a rematch is understandable. However, it may take a while to arrange since the Fury vs. Usyk match was moved from December to February.

"I would be willing to wait [for Fury to fight Usyk]. I know that they are going to fight; they had a contract already, so they are going to fight sometime in February instead of December 23, which is my fault," Ngannou said when he spoke with Michael Babcock on TMZ Sports.

Hence, Ngannou can only start thinking of a potential Tyson Fury fight by mid-2024 at the earliest.

With Fury busy preparing against Usyk, where does this leave Ngannou?

Ngannou is not interested in other boxers

An easy way to keep him in shape and hone his boxing skills is to face other boxers. The names of Deontay Wilder and Joseph Parker have floated, although getting back in the boxing ring is a bit complicated.

"First of all, it's too soon. Secondly, my focus, as boxing is concerned, is a rematch with Tyson. That's the most important thing for me right now, everything else for boxing comes after," Ngannou explained.

The reality is that Ngannou remains under contract with the Professional Fighters League (PFL), which complicated things a little bit. As of this writing, there remains no word on what is planned for "The Predator."

Hence, for now, Ngannou will likely continue training and improving his boxing skills as he awaits his next boxing assignment.
