The New York Jets' win-loss record may not be that pretty, but their defense has opponents feeling apprehensive.

The final score of their Week 9 game against the Los Angeles Chargers may not show it, but coach Brandon Stanley's squad felt the sting of the Jets' defense.

Memes made the rounds on the internet predicting quarterback Justin Herbert's subpar game.

They all came true as Herbert only produced 136 passing yards, below his 163 average.

Stanley acknowledged the Jets' defense, but he believes his team's offense persevered to get the victory.

"It was a tough game. We just didn't get much going today," Stanley said, as quoted by Chargers Wire's Alex Insdorf.

"Justin made a couple big plays for us with his legs...I thought the best thing we did was take care of it tonight. That was a big positive tonight that we came on the road and won the takeaway margin."

Stopping Herbert is no solace for Quinnen Williams

Defensive tackle Quinnen Williams and the rest of the Jets' defense still received props for their defense despite the lopsided loss.

But keeping it real, the 25-year-old does not believe in moral victories.

"No, we lost. I take pride in winning," he told reporters after the game when asked about Herbert's average game.

Garrett Wilson is also not finding solace in praises on defense. Instead, he is critical of their offense.
