The New Orleans Pelicans are off to a good 4-2 start for the 2023-24 NBA season, although the law of averages could catch up to them soon.

A reason behind the success of the Pelicans is that they have a healthy Brandon Ingram and Zion Williamson in harness. However, New Orleans may have to consider adding more players, with players like C.J. McCollum reportedly suffering a small collapse in his right lung, per an official release via NBA.com.

As of this writing, the Pelicans will assess the health of the 2016 NBA Most Improved Player. However, McCollum is not the only player not at 100%. Jose Alvarado is still recovering from a right ankle sprain, while Naji Marshall is recuperating from a knee issue.

Trey Murphy III is also out for now after undergoing surgery on a slightly torn meniscus.

Given the manpower woes of the Pelicans, here are some free agents that the team may want to consider to fill up their workforce void:

1. Danny Green

Danny Green is a proven veteran who can impact any team's offense. He has proven to be lethal from the field, owning career averages of 42.1% from the field and 40% from beyond the arc.

The Philadelphia 76ers waived the 36-year-old on November 1 after the James Harden trade, per Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN. The three-time NBA champion can help the Pelicans on the offensive end.

2. Terence Ross

Terence Ross knows what it takes to be creative and can provide help on offense. While he is known for his dazzling dunks, the 32-year-old former top pick also owns decent offense.

He is norming 41.8% from the field and 36.2% from beyond the three-point region. Ross could be another exciting addition that fans would look forward to besides Ingram and Williamson.

3. Rudy Gay

A tested veteran wherever he goes, Rudy Gay is someone who can help any team each time his number is called. The 37-year-old veteran can explode when needed, although his last couple of years saw a decline in his performance.

Regardless, Gay is a good offensive weapon, owning a 45.2% clip from the field and 34.6% from beyond the arc. He needs a new home after failing to make it to the Golden State Warriors final roster.

4. Austin Rivers

One of the more reliable guards who can come off the bench is Austin Rivers. The 31-year-old continues to look for a team that will take a chance on him, and the Pelicans could make sense for the son of NBA champion coach Doc Rivers.

Aside from playmaking, Rivers is a veteran with a decent shooting clip. He holds a career field goal average of 41.9% and can also nail it from the three-point region with a decent 34.9% clip. The former Duke Blue Devil could be a wise addition to the Pels' depleted backcourt rotation.

5. George Hill

Another veteran that the Pelicans may want to consider is George Hill. The 37-year-old has been around and has been known to be a good court general and someone who has a good shooting clip from the field at 45.7%. He can also hit it from beyond the arc, owning a career average of 38%.

Like Rivers, Hill can orchestrate and provide offense when needed. Despite his age, Hill can still be of use to teams in need of a veteran player.
