New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers appeared to hint at the specific date of his return to the football field through a cryptic post on Instagram Stories.
The 39-year-old uploaded a photo of a green timepiece by Swiss luxury watchmaker Zenith with the caption, "A little more time..."
Former NFL quarterback Kurt Benkert, who was a backup of Rodgers with the Green Bay Packers in 2021, suggested that the four-time NFL Most Valuable Payer could return to action on December 28.
This assumption was based on the numbers visible in the photo alongside the enigmatic caption.
Rodgers suffered a complete rupture of his left Achilles tendon during the season opener against the Buffalo Bills at home on September 11.
The Super Bowl XLV notably sustained the injury after just four offensive snaps into his first game in a Jets uniform, following a much-publicized trade from the Packers last April.
Rodgers underwent surgery on September 13 and has shown significant progress since, vowing to return to the field within the season.

Jets' game on December 28
The Jets will notably have a game on the hinted return date of their quarterback on December 28, as they are set to face the Cleveland Browns at the FirstEnergy Stadium for Thursday Night Football action.
The Browns defeated the Jets 21-16 during the last showdown between the two teams in the preseason last August 4.
