World Series: Rangers Coach Bruce Bochy Sounds Off on Jordan Montgomery's Performance in Game 2 Loss to Diamondbacks

Texas Rangers pitcher Jordan Montgomery came into the World Series with so much hype after his pitching masterclass in Game 7 of the AL Championship Series against the Houston Astros.

However, he was just a shell of his usual reliable self in Game 2 of the World Series, with his sinker velocity down from his season average.

Rangers manager Bruce Bochy is not worried about Montgomery as the series now travels to Phoenix at 1-1.

He thought Monty still played well in the second game at home, although his throws did not translate to a victory.

"You look at that but he was pitching well, he'd done such a great job and that is something you have to be aware of," Bochy said.

"They had a left-hander leading off the inning so we said we would let him start it."

Monty out, Mad Max in as the starting pitcher?

Bochy is yet to announce who will start for them in Game 3, but reports revealed that the team is doing everything to have Max Scherzer as the starter.

This includes having Mad Max "Super Glued."

"Found a way to use cotton and Super Glue in a way that provides a layer for that not to get cut, as well," Scherzer said Sunday.

"A little arts and crafts in the training room at times, but that's what you've got to do."
