The Philadelphia 76ers and James Harden are in a messy situation. However, Bob Myers, the former general manager of the Golden State Warriors, may have some sensible advice that Daryl Morey may want to consider.

"If it was me, I'd go to Steph Curry, I'd go to Joel Embiid and ask, 'What do you want?'" Myers said to Stephen A. Smith via ESPN before the Boston Celtics vs. New York Knicks game. "If that guy says 'I want him on the team,' that's what I'm doing."

The 48-year-old is no stranger to managing NBA stars, having done that with Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, and Kevin Durant.

But overall, it may all boil down to talking to your team's franchise player - a reason why he singled out Curry.

Without talking to Harden, Myers could do the next best thing and talk to Embiid. The 2023 NBA MVP is undoubtedly the most important person in the Sixers' fold right now, so it would be wise to seek his opinion on the James Harden trade drama.

Will Embiid change his stance on Harden?

Embiid admitted back in July that he was disappointed about the Harden issue but still wanted the 2018 NBA MVP back, SI.com reported.

"I want him to come back," Embiid said at the time. "Obviously, so we can go out and accomplish what we want, which is to win a championship. So, hopefully, his mindset can be changed. Other than that, I'm just happy to be his friend."

But as most know, a lot has changed since then, and the James Harden trade drama appears to be getting worse. It will be interesting if Morey follows Myers' suggestion. More importantly, it remains to be seen what Embiid has to say.
