Two of the best defenses in the league go head-to-head when Los Angeles travels to Montreal tonight.

The Kings have had great strength in goaltending as Ben Scrivens has stepped up in the absence of Jonathan Quick (groin), and boasts the best save percentage in the league and backup Martin Jones notched the first shutout of his career on Saturday against the New York Islanders.

"He did a really good job in Anaheim [a 3-2 Kings win in a shootout that went nine rounds], and then [Saturday] night he was really solid," Kings coach Daryl Sutter said of Jones on Sunday after practice, according to NHL.com. "He didn't have to be great, but he was solid coming in, especially in the first period."

Scrivens is 7-2-4 with a 1.56 goals-against average and a .943 save percentage this season for the Kings. Montreal's probable starter, Carey Price, is 14-8-2 with a 1.95 GAA and a .938 save percentage.

Canadiens head coach Michel Therrien has been switching up the lines in order to find the best results.

"My responsibility as a coach is to put the best players on the ice and win hockey games," Therrien said Monday per NHL.com. "It's as simple as that."

The Canadiens have been led on the score sheet by P.K. Subban, who has 24 points off of four goals and 20 assists while Tomas Plekanec has five goals in eight games for a total of 11 tallies and 11 helpers for 22 points and Alex Galchenyuk has lit the lamp eight times and added 12 assists for 20 points.

Anze Kopitar has paced the Kings with 25 points off of eight goals and 17 assists while Mike Richards has found the back of the net six times and added 17 tallies for 23 points and Justin Williams has 10 tallies and 11 assists for 21 points.

Two of the NHL's best defensive teams go at it when the Kings and Canadiens hit the ice tonight in Montreal.
