The Jake Paul-Nate Diaz fight rematch is officially transferring to the octagon as the Youtuber's camp announced that a showdown between the two has been greenlit.
It will be a new territory for Paul, who has yet to step foot in the MMA arena.
The two figured in a money-grabbing boxing match last August, where they reportedly earned eight digits in profit.
Expect the pair to get richer come their MMA bout.
"For the record: Jake Paul will not be boxing Nate Diaz again. Nate Diaz and Jake Paul have received an offer from @PFLMMA to do rematch in MMA in the SmartCage. Jake Paul has accepted the offer," Paul's promoter Most Valuable Promotion wrote on X. Jake Paul immediately posted on X about the news.
The match will take place in the Professional Fighters League, a rival promotion of the more well-known Ultimate Fighting Championship.
Jake Paul's zero MMA record
Fighting in the MMA will be a new and greater challenge for Paul, who boasts a 7-1 win-loss record in boxing.
He has fought MMA fighters before and came out triumphant, including against Diaz. He only fought one legit boxer, Tommy Fury, and lost.
Just like in their boxing match, the build-up to the Jake Paul-Nate Diaz fight in the octagon is filled with trash-talking.
The two previously accused each other of dodging the MMA rematch they agreed on back in August.
Paul said Diaz did not want the fight to happen because the latter fears tarnishing his MMA legacy.
