A Damian Lillard to Miami Heat move was botched after a long negotiation, and that is what Bam Adebayo is bummed about.

The Heat center thought the trade decision should not have gone that long, not because their anticipation was high and it got wasted anyway, but because of Lillard's family.

"I wish it would have just gotten over earlier. Just because not only for guys on our team but him as an individual," Adebayo told Sirius XM.

"Guy's got kids. Guy's got family. Some people in that mix of what happened got that phone call, and there was no turning back.

"It's like three days before camp. Four days before camp. We got kids. We got families. And that's a lot to move in 72 hours [for Dame].

Adebayo cleared that he is happy for Lillard even though the latter did not land in Miami, saying the 7-time All-Star got what he wanted, that is to play for a contender.

Heat still needs 25PPG Player

According to team president Pat Riley, Lillard's offensive prowess is up in the top tier, and the Heat still need more support for Jimmy Butler in the scoring department.

This is where Adebayo comes in.

"Somebody else is going to be in the 20s or 19 or 21. But we need those three guys to play at a high level and to play together as much as they can for us to have a great regular season and a great playoff run. They're all capable. I've seen some signs of Bam and Tyler in the preseason that I really like."
