The Texas Rangers took a resounding 9-2 victory over the Houston Astros in Game 6 of the American League Championship Series at Minute Maid Park in Houston on Sunday, October 22.
The Rangers avoided elimination courtesy of early home runs from catchers Mitch Garver and Jonah Heim, and oufielder Adolis García's ninth-inning grand slam.
"I'm just proud of how these guys keep bouncing back," Rangers manager Bruce Bochy said after the game.
Having initially led the series 2-0, the Rangers found themselves on the brink of elimination, having let the Astros off the hook in previous games.
Houston had capitalized, winning three consecutive games to seize control of the series and position themselves one victory away from securing a second consecutive World Series berth.
However, the Rangers managed to stay composed as Nathan Eovaldi produced yet another stellar postseason performance, conceding only five hits and two runs in 6 1/3 innings during Game 6.
This outstanding display further solidified the 33-year-old's 4-0 playoff record, accompanied by an impressive 2.42 ERA for this playoffs.

Home field disadvantage
The trend in the series has seen every game won by the visiting team, setting the stage for a decisive Game 7 scheduled to take place in the same venue on Monday, October 23.
"Seems a little odd nobody is winning at home, and I would like for it to stay that way," Garver stated.
