Grizzlies: Ja Morant's Response to Deion Sanders' Message Draws Blunt Take From Lil Wayne

Lil Wayne previously tried to connect with embattled NBA star Ja Morant to give some solicited advice, but the latter has yet to respond to the rapper.

However, a recent tweet by the Memphis Grizzlies star has softened Lil Wayne, thinking Morant is showing good signs of progress.

The tweet in question? The two-time All-Star's response to an inspirational message by Colorado Buffaloes coach Deion Sanders on the X app.

Appearing on the "Undisputed Show" with Skip Bayless, Wayne thought the message from Morant was encouraging.

"Great sign," he said while agreeing to co-host, that he felt he got the response he wanted from Morant without being addressed directly.

Morant got in trouble twice in the NBA for his gun-toting incident and escapades in strip clubs. His last gun incident earned him a 25-game suspension from the league.

Wayne trying to be a mentor to Ja

Lil Wayne gave Morant unsolicited advice many times before. He even tried to use Bayless to get to the Grizzlies, but still to no avail.

The musician feels he has something to say about his situation, given they are both popular.

"[Ja] come from a town of 3,000 people. What y'all expect? You gave him $200 million. I just said a town of 3,000 people. You expect him to be responsible? Now we trippin'."
