Washington Wizards guard Jordan Poole delivered an outstanding offensive performance during their preseason game against the New York Knicks on Wednesday, October 18, at Madison Square Garden.
The 24-year-old put up 41 points, making 10-of-19 shots from the field, 6-of-12 from the three-point range, and 15-of-16 from the free-throw line. Alongside this scoring display, he contributed 5 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 steals.
The former Golden State Warriors guard subbed out of the game with 1:52 left in the third quarter and sat out the fourth quarter.
With this remarkable showing, Poole has matched Michael Jordan's record for the highest points scored by a Wizards player in the preseason since 2000.
The former Chicago Bulls legend and current Charlotte Hornets minority owner previously did the feat 22 years ago in October 2001.
Throughout three preseason games, Poole has averaged 23.3 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 2.3 assists in 23 minutes of playing time.
After winning an NBA championship with Golden State in 2022, Poole was traded to the Wizards this past offseason in a deal that sent NBA 75th Anniversary Team member Chris Paul to the Warriors.
