Sonny Gray is having a career revival this season, which the Minnesota Twins took advantage of in their last game against the Houston Astros to even their five-game American League Division Series to 1-1.
Gray, 33, logged in 184 innings for his highest total since 2015, and his brilliance came at the most perfect opportunity when they visited the Astros and grabbed a 6-2 road victory.
The three-time All-Star pitcher explained his approach to the game, which was largely affected by his confidence in his talent.

"It was the idea of attacking, knowing that your stuff is great, your stuff is some of the best stuff in the league," Gray explained. "It has been for a long time, and it still is."
Gray even described his approach as a "bulldog mentality," which is his favorite sport.
"Here it is. I'm coming at you. Let's see how far you can hit it," Gray said.
No gray area in pitching and quarterbacking
It is no secret that Gray used to be a quarterback in high school and even led his team to several Tennessee state football championships.
The right-handed pitcher related how this point of his sports career helped him steer the Twins to an efficient performance.
"The way that a team truly has to come together in football, especially playing quarterback," he explained.
"I mean, you're in charge of all 11 guys that are out there. You not only know what you have to do, but then you're knowing what the left guard, left tackle, all the receivers, the running backs, you kind of know what they have to do, and then you also know what the defense is doing."
Twins now have a chance to steal a home-field advantage from the Astros as they host them on Wednesday, thanks to Gray's leadership.
