Damian Lillard got his wish to be traded to a new team following that blockbuster deal that involved the Portland Trail Blazers, Phoenix Suns, and the Milwaukee Bucks.

Although the Damian Lillard-Portland Trail Blazers divorce was well documented, it appears the seven-time All-Star had personal issues to deal with following reports that the 33-year-old guard filed for divorce from his wife, Kay'La Lillard on October 2, per Sophie Peel of Willamette Week.

The couple had a falling out with the filing citing irreconcilable differences that led to their marriage breaking down. It was added that the filing was made by Lillard in Clackamas County Circuit Court in Oregon City, Oregon.

It was also added that Damian and Kay'La have been living in separate homes in West Linn since December of last year, Katu.com reported.

It was an unfortunate development considering both started as college sweethearts at Weber State University, Oregon Live reported. They tied the knot on September 21, 2021, in Santa Barbara, California, and are blessed with three children.

Stinging start for Dame and the Bucks

Although this Damian Lillard issue is outside the basketball scene, it will be interesting if such will affect the 2013 NBA Rookie of the Year's debut with the Milwaukee Bucks for the 2023-24 NBA season.

Lillard's arrival boosts the Bucks' bid for an NBA title, something that resident star Giannis Antetokounmpo had questioned.

After the Damian Lillard trade, the Bucks have become the new favorites to win the NBA title on FanDuel at +360, Fox Sports noted. Before the deal, Milwaukee was at +650.
