Chicago Bulls guard Lonzo Ball gave an update regarding his ongoing rehabilitation and the future of his NBA career during the team's media day held at their practice facility, Advocate Center, on Monday, October 2.

The 25-year-old shared that he feels good and believes he's about halfway through the rehabilitation process.

The former second-overall pick acknowledged that there is still a long journey ahead of him, and he noted the importance of maintaining a positive mindset and taking things one day at a time as he continues his recovery.

Ball remains confident and determined in his ability to make a triumphant return to the NBA.

"I definitely plan on playing again. After surgery three, I feel like it's going well so far, no setbacks. So for me it's just keep my head up, just keep doing the work," the former UCLA standout said.

Lonzo Ball to miss second straight season

Ball confirmed that he will miss the entire 2023-24 NBA season to focus on his recovery from a torn meniscus on his left knee, which continued to cause pain for the player months after surgery.

The 2018 All-NBA Rookie Second Team member missed the 2022-23 season due to the same issue.

He last played in an NBA game on January 14, 2022, against the Golden State Warriors, putting up 15 points, 2 rebounds, and 3 assists in the 138-96 loss.

Ball's optimism on his return is a good sign, considering that many thought his career was in jeopardy due to his turbulent recovery process.
