Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green suffered a setback heading into the upcoming 2023-24 NBA season.
The 33-year-old veteran forward sustained an ankle injury in practice while playing a pickup game this week.
The four-time NBA champion reportedly stepped on third-year forward Jonathan Kuminga's foot, according to NBA insider Marc J. Spears of ESPN.

Green played 73 of the 82 regular season games last season, garnering All-NBA Defensive Second Team honors and scoring his highest average since the 2017-18 season.
In the preceding 2021-22 season, Green faced limitations due to a persistent back injury, featuring in only 46 games. Nevertheless, he made a strong comeback during the playoffs, participating in all 22 of the Warriors' playoff games, ultimately helping the team secure a championship.

Golden State Warriors Draymond Green Injury Status
Green sustained a left ankle sprain that would keep him out of action for 4 to 6 weeks.
"I dodged a bullet and learned that today by the way it's [positively] reacting. Even with an MRI you don't see the trend of it immediately. The swelling is down," the 2017 NBA Defensive Player of the Year said about the injury, which is quickly healing.
Assuming the four-to-six-week recovery timeline remains accurate, Green is anticipated to return to the court in early-to-mid November.
Consequently, the four-time NBA All-Star will be absent for at least the first four games of the Golden State's 2023-24 regular season.
