USC Trojans Basketball went through its first practice session for the season, although Bronny James remained indisposed as he deals with a congenital heart defect.

As far as the health update on Bronny James, USC basketball coach Andy Enfield says that the soon-to-be 19-year-old is doing well, although he cannot comment on anything medically, ESPN reported.

"Bronny's doing very well," Enfield said after practice at USC. "But we just can't comment on anything medically. He's going to class and doing extremely well in school, and we're really excited for him."

It will be recalled that Bronny James, the son of Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James, suffered from cardiac arrest during a basketball workout at the University of Southern California back in July, per the Associated Press.

For now, Bronny is going through the usual routine that any student does - focus on his studies.

"He's around when he can be," Enfield said on Monday, September 25. "And he's getting caught up [with] some schoolwork and doing very well. His grades are excellent right now, and he's being the true student-athlete."

Bronny James is working on getting better from his health episode, and expectations are high that he will be able to play again. The only question left unanswered for now is when.

Bronny James' return timetable

Enfield did not give any timetable on Bronny James' return. Regardless, he and the rest of the team are looking forward to seeing the teen return to actively playing basketball soon.

"We anticipate him being a very valuable part of our basketball team," Enfield said via SI.com. "But that'll be all sorted out. He's the ultimate teammate because he cares about winning, and he has such a personal relationship with all his teammates. When you watch him on the court and you're around them, that's the first thing you notice within five or 10 minutes - and it's contagious."
