Minkah Fitzpatrick Jr. of the Pittsburgh Steelers aired his side of the hit on Nick Chubb of the Cleveland Browns through a lengthy explanation on social media.

The three-time Pro Bowler is drawing heat from that tackle that ended the season of the 27-year-old running back. However, Fitzpatrick explains that it was an opening that he saw, and the decision to go low was his but not dirty.

"I'm a guy that is a competitor, that is going to go out there and play the game," Fitzpatrick said via the Associated Press. "I'm chippy. I'm edgy of course but I'm not a dirty player. I'm not going to sit here and defend my character. I know the type of player I am. Chubb knows the type of player I am."

Fitzpatrick was not spared from that play, coming out of it with a bruised chest. Also, the 26-year-old told Chubb before the four-time Pro Bowler was carted away that the hit was not intentional.

Fitzpatrick Jr. is moving on

While debate rages on whether Minkah Patrick did a dirty play or not, the reality is that Chubb is done for the season. The 27-year-old underwent surgery on his left knee on Wednesday, the New York Post reported.

Fitzpatrick was also brought to the hospital as a precaution after aggravating his injury trying to chase Jerome Ford of the Browns later in the game. However, he is expected to be available for Pittsburgh when they face the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday, per Fox Sports.

With Chubb out, the Browns re-signed Kareem Hunt to back up Ford at running back, according to Clevelandbrowns.com.
