Inter Miami star Lionel Messi returned to the squad after missing the last two games due to international duty for Argentina and muscle fatigue.
However, the seven-time Ballon d'Or's comeback against Toronto FC on Wednesday, September 20, was short-lived as he subbed off the match in the 37th minute following visible discomfort in his right leg.
The score was deadlocked at 0-0 when the Argentine icon left the match, but his teammates picked up the pace soon after, scoring four goals as Inter Miami dominated Toronto FC, 4-0 at the DRV PNK Stadium in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
Inter Miami has many matches coming up, entering a stretch of six in 17 days starting Wednesday's game.

Inter Miami's Lionel Messi injury status
Messi and Jordi Alba will miss Inter Miami's next MLS game vs. Orlando City SC on Sunday, September 24, according to Inter Miami manager Tata Martino.
"There is no chance for them to play the Orlando match, but I do not think there is anything serious or muscle injuries. I think it is just fatigue," the Argentine tactician said.
The 36-year-old World Cup winner was said to be bothered by an old injury, and he was subbed off the Toronto FC game to be safe.
The team will evaluate the two former Barcelona players in hopes of them returning for the Lamar Hunt US Open Cup Final on September 27 against the Houston Dynamo.
