Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Yusei Kikuchi has a ridiculous sleeping habit that cannot be compromised.
The 32-year-old revealed to MLB reporter Kaitlyn McGrath of The Athletic that he sleeps 13 to 14 hours a night, which is more than half a day.
The habit also leaves no room for compromise after the Japanese player claimed that due to only 11 hours of sleep, he suffered a left upper trap muscle cramp and left their game against the New York Yankees on Wednesday.
Kikuchi added that he usually sleeps around 11 p.m. and wakes up at 1 p.m.
The left-handed pitcher is in his second season with the Blue Jays after signing a three-year deal worth $36 million before the 2022 MLB season.
He spent his first three seasons in the MLB with the Seattle Mariners.

Yusei Kikuchi leaves game vs. Yankees
Kikuchi left their Wednesday game against the Yankees due to a left upper trap muscle cramp, and he was visibly uncomfortable while grabbing the left side of his neck as he left the mound.
He gave up one run on four hits while recording a walk and seven strikeouts on 82 pitches before his departure.
The Blue Jays took a 7-1 win to improve their win-loss record to 84-67, which puts them at comfortable second in the American League Wild Card Standings.
