The Philadelphia 76ers are adding some depth to the wings to be ready for whatever happens to their uncertain and tumultuous situation with star James Harden.

The team will be signing veteran Kelly Oubre Jr. to a one-year deal, according to NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

The veteran's minimum contract is reportedly worth $2 million for the 2023-24 NBA season.

The 27-year-old spent the past two seasons with the Charlotte Hornets, averaging a career-high 20.3 points, 5.2 rebounds, 1.1 assists and 1.4 steals in 2022-23 while shooting 43.1 percent from the field.

The Washington Wizards drafted Oubre Jr. with the 15th overall pick in the 2015 NBA Draft, and he spent his first three years with the team.

In December 2018, he was traded to the Phoenix Suns, where he became a key role player, averaging a career-high 34.5 minutes per game in 2019-20. He stayed in Phoenix until the 2020 offseason.

The former Kansas player spent the 2020-21 NBA season with the Golden State Warriors, before moving on to the Hornets for the next two seasons.

Kelly Oubre will take a pay cut to play for Philly

Oubre Jr. will be taking a significant pay cut for the upcoming campaign with the Sixers after making more than $12 million in each of the past four seasons, according to HoopsHype.

This will be the swingman's first shot in playing in a real championship-contending team, having spent most of his career on lottery teams. He only made the playoffs twice with the Wizards in 2017 and 2018.
