The Los Angeles Angels will have to deal with a lot of things in the MLB offseason, one of them possibly All-Star center fielder Mike Trout.

The 32-year-old has about seven years remaining in his 12-year deal with the Angels, part of the $430 million contract he signed in 2019, ESPN reported.

However, earlier this month, the 11-time All-Star mentioned that he wanted to discuss his future plans with the Los Angeles Angels and see what the Los Angeles Angels have in store moving forward.

"I haven't thought about it yet. There are going to be some conversations in the winter, for sure. Just to see the direction of everything and what the plan is," Trout stated in a report by the Orange County Register.

Will Mike Trout opt out?

There is no telling what the future holds for the three-time AL MVP. However, the Angels are keeping their options open and appear ready to trade Mike Trout should the outfielder request one, USA Today reported.

It should be noted that the 2012 AL Rookie of the Year holds exclusive no-trade rights, although he may not generate the same trade value compared to the past.

He has not played more than 140 games since 2016 and has missed many games in the past three seasons.

Ohtani free agency on the table

Aside from Trout, the Angels also have to figure out the case of Shohei Ohtani. The 29-year-old is set to become a free agent but has also been plagued by injuries, relegating him to just being a hitter.

Assuming he sticks it out with the Angels, Trout vows to try and keep "Shotime" in Los Angeles in whatever capacity he can.

"I'm going to do whatever I can to keep Shohei here," Trout stated.

But of course, that depends if the nine-time Silver Slugger award winner stays put in Los Angeles.
